The U.S. healthcare system. Top notch right?
That’s because typically the more that you pay for something the better it should be. At least that is what you would expect. Top quality is typically top dollar.

Sometimes . . .

Ouch.
There are a number of reasons that contribute to what’s wrong with our healthcare system today. You could probably write a novel on the pitfalls but let’s keep it simple. Here is one of the biggest
Being reactive
Yep, that’s right. If you want to be able to succeed you need to either adapt or be able to anticipate and take action beforehand. This is typically what most successful businesses, organizations, and even people do.
Ultimately the responsibility of one’s health comes down to the actual individual. And when do we make it a priority to become knowledgeable about our health? When there is something already wrong. Not the best course of action.
Understandably, you can’t be proactive about everything. But, it definitely makes sense to take care of your body beforehand so that when something unfortunate does come along, your body is able to handle it to the best of its ability.
Diseases like Type II diabetes, heart diseases, strokes, and even some types of cancer are ALL PREVENTABLE. Yet, as a nation we still seem to be having a tough time with them. Here is one of the reasons:
Obesity
Read up on it: (http://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html)
I’m passionate about healthcare and fitness and maybe you could care less. That’s totally cool. But it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take care of yourself. Honestly, how could you argue with feeling and looking good if you take care of yourself?
I’m leaving this sentence here so you could think about it.
Exactly.
So then what is the future of healthcare?
Being Proactive
Information today is provided in a manner that is not practical or applicable in today’s fast paced world. The result is delayed action because of analysis paralysis.
“Go to the gym and use the cable machine to work your pecs, make sure to use the lat pull-down machine to hit your back too. By the way, after the weights you want to run on the treadmill for like an hour so that you can burn some fat off and maybe retain some muscle. And you have to make sure you hit up the protein shake at least 30 minutes after your workout in order to fully take advantage of the workout you just did.”
Dude, what!?
Seriously, it’s not that complicated.
Have you heard of pushups, pull-ups, and then going for a run? Best course of action is to take action. Do something, damn.
The fitness industry overloads the general population with a lot of useless information. Not all of it useless, but arguably most of it. And if you have a clue as to who the general population is . . . it’s you.
You can look pretty damn good without supplements and complicated workout routines. Not that I’m against using them, but keeping it simple always works. All you need is time.
